Are Spider Cranes and Mini Crawler Cranes the same?

07-26

While both are compact and mobile cranes, they have distinct structural differences. A Spider Crane is equipped with four outriggers or stabilizing legs, which provide excellent balance and allow it to work on sloped or uneven ground. On the other hand, a Mini Crawler Crane typically has continuous tracks (like a small excavator) and relies more on its crawler base for stability. Mini Crawlers are better suited for relatively flat surfaces and often provide better maneuverability over longer distances. Both machines are compact, but the Spider Crane excels in confined or elevated work zones due to its flexible positioning legs.
